Goethe-Institut/Max Mueller Bhavan New Delhi invites applications for the position of Project Assistant for the Library.
MMB is part of the worldwide network of the Goethe-Institut Munich and promotes German language and culture abroad. The Regional Information Centre in Delhi provides comprehensive and up-to-date information about Germany.
Responsibilities:
Ø Provide assistance in organization of international conferences and seminars
Ø Coordinate the local staff training programmes
Ø Provide information services about Germany
Ø Provide coverage of the circulation desk
Ø Work with the content management system to update the website and other web projects
Ø Create attractive displays to promote library collection and services
Ø Maintain address databases
Ø Carry out day to day office administration and other related activities
Requirements:
Ø Master’s degree in Humanities
Ø Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
Ø Good knowledge of spoken and written German language and culture an advantage
Ø Strong organizational skills and experience in day to day office administration
Ø Competence in using new technology as a research tool
Ø Profound knowledge of computer applications
Ø Strong commitment to public service
Ø Initiative, flexibility, and strong ability to work in a team environment
