Dear Professional Friends,
‘If a hermit lives in a state of ecstasy, his lack of comfort becomes the
height of comfort. He must relinquish it’ says Jean Cocteau. I recalled
this when I read the letter from Dr. K.N. Prasad, the man who joined the
stalwarts of LIS and made our profession visible, honourable and
respectable.
Dr. KNP known for his firm decision, straight forwardness, and simplicity,
of-course known for his smile and moustache too, is not so old to
relinquish from his honorary services to LIS in general, and Sarada
Ranganathan Endowment for Library Science (SRELS), in particular.
Respecting Dr. KNP’s decision, we wish all success for his future
endeavours and happy time. We expect your guidance and ‘strong’ directions
for our professional growth and to support the associations / organizations
with which we are associated.
With fond regards,

Dear Professional Colleagues :
I am relinquishing from the services of Sarada Ranganathan Endowment for Library Science (SRELS) Bengaluru w.e.f. 30th April 2016.
I have been associated with SRELS in different capacities almost since 1973. I had the greatest opportunity to work with professional stalwarts like Prof. M.A. Gopinath, Prof. Parthasarathy and Prof.A.Neelameghan in addition to being acquainted with numerous others.
I have been particularly lucky to be associated with the publications of the Endowment, especially its mouthpiece - SRELS Journal of Information Management.
I firmly believe in the mission of SRELS and hope its legacy will continue all through the future.
I will, however, continue to remain professionally active.
Best wishes,
K.N. Prasad
