Kendriya Vidyalaya Kanjikode is celebrating World Book and Copyright Day from 21-26 April 2014 with various programmes. Mr. Johnson Mathew, Assistant Commissioner, KVS RO Ernakulam gave away various prizes and awards to the library prize winners of the previous session. * Outstanding Reader of the Year : A Cash Prize of Rs. 1000/- each to ten Best Readers, instituted by Mr. Kiran Ramachandran, an alumni of our Vidyalaya to motivate reading habit. The students were selected based on the library points, Book Lovers Programme for School participation, Readers' Club points and creative writing skills. * Best Library User (School) certificates and gift coupons: To 12 students based on the Library Points secured in the previous academic session * Class of Readers Award : To the class that secures a minimum 1000 library points in the session. * Best Library User (Class): The students who secure the maximum library points in the session in their class * Reading Achievement Certificates: To the students who secure a minimum of 50 library points in the session. This year 60 students received the certificate. These prizes are given annually during World Book Day and the it was heartening to see that the number of prize winners almost doubles every year. The School Library also received Rs. 14000/- worth of books from various sources during the Donate a Book campaign organised during the International Children's Book Day celebrations this month. The School Library is also organising the following competitions for the students this week. * Book Title Challenge * Library Treasure Hunt * Fairy Tales Quiz (Primary) A Children's Book Fair is being organised in the School Library on 24, 25 and 26 April 2014.
