Dear Fatima Abedi,
Yeah, you can always give one or more DOI or any number of DOIs to a resource. But still I am not able to understand when you have a DOI already why you want to give another one. You can directly use or quote the older one. Remember DOI is a persistence identification of the resource even if it moves from one place to another.
Hope it helps.

Dear Colleagues,Our organisation have registered for DOI from Bowkers. We are in a process alloting DOI numbers to our Institutional publication and to the articles published by our scientist. My doubt is can we assign DOI numbers to the articles which has already given DOI numbers by the publishers. Example: A DOI number is alloted by cropscience journal to the article of our institutional authors.. shall I give our DOI number to that particular article alongwith the publishers assigned DOI ???Anybody please clarify it.Thanks in advanceRegardsFatima Abedi
