Dear Professionals: As part of ongoing project, Development of OAI-based Institutional Repository Services in India, sponsored by Department of Scientific and Industrial research, Ministry of Science and technology, Govt. of India, the National Centre for Science Information (NCSI), Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore, will be conducting a training workshop on "Building Institutional Repositories using GNU EPrints", during 25-27 July 2007. The main focus of the workshop will be to provide an intensive practical training to the participants to setup and maintain their Institutional Repositories (IR) using the latest version of "GNU EPrints.org" software. The workshop is being conducted to encourage research institutes, universities and R&D organizations to setup their interoperable IRs. The institutions/organizations are encouraged to depute appropriate persons who will be in a position to take advantage of the training to set up and operate institutional repositories in their respective institutions. Participation from Institutions/Organizations with a large S&T/R&D activity, larger research output, regular publications and interaction meets would be desirable. Workshop Fees: No registration fee will be charged from the participant. A maximum of 20 participants will be taken for the workshop. Free accommodation for the participants for the dates 24-28 July 2007 will be provided at the CCE hostel of IISc. Tea and lunch during the workshop days (25-27 July) will also be covered by NCSI. Other expenses, including travel, should be borne by the sponsoring institutions/organizations.
