It is a mixed feeling for me to read Dr Prasad's message of relinquishing his office. To me, Dr Prasad is an unsung hero. Many of his contributions largely went unnoticed in the profession. Working with legendaries like Prof. Gopinath, Prof. Neelameghan, Prof. Seetharama, Prof. Parthasarathy, and the host of others, Dr Prasad has become a legendary himself. I have had a good opportunity to interact and work with him many times. He is jovial in his interactions but very strict and meticulous in his actions. He is a tireless enthusiastic professional worth emulating. He has been helpful to many. He has a special corner for the students and Ph.D. scholars. He has helped and encouraged many of them by guiding them to publish their research work. It is not disparaging to others if I say Dr Prasad is one of the persons who has made SRELS what it is today. After a very long innings in the profession, he is getting much-deserved rest for himself and his family. I wish him a long and healthy life. There appears to be a lull at SRELS at present. I am sure SRELS would have already taken steps to march ahead for taking its glory to further heights that Dr Prasad would have shown them. With regards, N.S. Dear Professional Colleagues :
I am relinquishing from the services of Sarada Ranganathan Endowment for Library Science (SRELS) Bengaluru w.e.f. 30th April 2016.
I have been associated with SRELS in different capacities almost since 1973. I had the greatest opportunity to work with professional stalwarts like Prof. M.A. Gopinath, Prof. Parthasarathy and Prof.A.Neelameghan in addition to being acquainted with numerous others.
I have been particularly lucky to be associated with the publications of the Endowment, especially its mouthpiece - SRELS Journal of Information Management.
I firmly believe in the mission of SRELS and hope its legacy will continue all through the future.
I will, however, continue to remain professionally active.
Best wishes,
K.N. Prasad
