[LIS-Forum] Preservation of Books

Dear LIS Forum members I wish to seek your advice regarding preservation of books. Here, in my library, the most demanded books are getting dilapidated due to constant use. Normally we get the books bounded when they becomes dilapidated. But after binding the books lose their beauty and freshness. Hence, we plan to wrap the books with transparent plastic sheet. Is it a feasible solution? My question is how to extend the freshness of books/give extra life to books. Please advice Rafi.S.M Asst. Librarian PAACET Trivandrum.
