TUMKUR UNIVERSITY Tumkur University was established during the year 2004 as a separate entity to cater to the needs of thousands of young aspirants of higher education in Tumkur region. The University blossomed in the era of globalization in which economies of the world were being transformed from their original closed self sustaining structure to the globalized context, where they could expose themselves to the competitive world. THE DEPARTMENT OF STUDIES AND RESEARCH IN LIBRARY AND INFORMATION SCIENCE The Department of Studies and Research in Library and Information Science was established in 2005. It offers a postgraduate course in Library and Information Science. Students get exposure to theoretical and practical aspects of scientific management of library and information centers with a special reference to Information Communication Technology. INSTITUTE OF SCIENTOMETRICS It is a global interdisciplinary virtual research Institute in the field of Scientometrics and Informetrics established on 27-3-2011. THE CONFERENCE Theme of the Conference: Scientometrics Sub-themes: • Emerging issues in Scientometrics / Informetrics /Webometrics and applications in LIS activities • Bibliometrics Laws • Citation analysis • Collaborative studies in Science and Technology • Obsolescence studies • Scientometric Portraits • Trends in web citations, web decay and Internet archives etc. CALL FOR PAPERS Contributors can send their research papers on any of the sub-themes or any other theme relevant to the main theme of the Conference. Papers should be sent to sampathkumar@tumkuruniversity.in on or before 31st July 2012. PARTICIPANTS The Conference is primarily meant for Library and Information Science professionals, teachers, research scholars and students. GUIDELINES FOR PAPER SUBMISSION Papers will be considered for publication and/or presentation provided they are submitted according to the guidelines for paper submission. The paper should be adhered to the following guidelines: • Papers should be typed in MS Word and texts should be typed in “Cambria” with font size 12 and double-spaced. • Headings and subheadings must be in bold font, justified left side. • Title should be followed by name, affiliation and address of the author(s) • An abstract not more than 250 words should be supplied with the paper. Four to five keywords must be given after the abstract. • Size of the paper to be kept within 5000 words. All papers must be accompanied by one passport size color photograph with a brief CV of author(s). • Tables and graphs should be clearly labeled (e.g. Table-1, Figure-1) • The references should be provided in accordance with APA style.
