The rules are very clear it is " 5 books per one thousand issued or consulted may be loss written off without the responsibility of librarian. The costly books of value more than Rs. 1000/- and rare books are not included for such losses, for which a board is need to form. In case you have problem in getting goverment order, you may refer swamy's compilation on GFR. While doing the Stocck Verfication of our library collection, we found that some books were missing/lost. Is there any standing rules for replacing the lost books or is it that the loss should be made good by the Librarian? Pls send to me if you have any GO or norms for the same.
