Dear Library Professionals,
It is a very shocking news that a Non-Library person appointed as the Director of INFLIBNET Centre.
This is a very unscientific decision to manage a Library Network by non-librarian.
Though the essential qualification for the post is that the person from relevant field, the appointed person is from Statistics, which
is not the relevant field.
It is the prime duty and responsibility of all library professionals and associations to intimate the authorities the damage may create to the profession and also to the academics and R&D at large by the decision.
How a Non-Medicine man can do treatment and surgery. A computer man can establish physical network, but can not manage knowledge and library and provide knowledge services scientifically and effectively.
