Dear professional friends, I will be superannuating from my services at Raman Research Institute on 31 st May 2020. My journey in the LIS profession started in 1980 when I joined Library school for BlLibSc program and eventually completed MLib in 1982. My career started in 1983, when I joined ISRO and worked there for a short while. Later I joined CMTI in 1984 and from their moved on to join Indian statistical Institute in 1987. Worked at ISI for 24 years and during this time I was fortunate to acquire PhD degree from Bangalore University under the guidance of Prof. MA Gopinath. I joined RRI as Librarian in April 2011. My professional life has been satisfying and fulfilling. I had occasions to meet many eminent personalities from both the LIS profession and scientific community. I also had opportunity to organize many events, which were really learning experiences. My retirement is only from my 9 to 5 official position and not from professional/academic life.
