Dear Mr Navin Soni,
Many of us have the same experience with open source softwares as some of us had mentioned earlier on lisforum in the recent past. If your institution is ready to pay for AMC and still if you are not getting services from Verus, then anyone can suggest that you should switch over to new software... But, if you switch over to new software, no one can assure you that you will get prompt technical support for that software. It is possible that someone from Verus read your mail on LISFORUM and provide you technical support...
Still you want to switch over to new software and the if you have any problems with Data conversion, you may contact with Mr. Mahesh Angadi at mahesh_m_angadi@rediffmail.com or sxielibrary@gmail.com. He will surely help you to convert your data to your new software...
Dear Professionals,Goog Mrng..We are from INMAS, DRDO, Delhi. Presently we are using newgenlib (OSS), we had tried a lot to give AMC to Newgenlib developers (M/s Verus Solutions) at normal rates but they did not responded positive. We library people are not expertise in JAVA and supporting softwares of Newgenlib therefore now it is not possible us to continue work without technical support. As this software constantly requires technical support which we are not able to find out who may take AMC of this Newgenlib software. Now may I request on this forum who can guide us how to overcome this problem of AMC.In alternative, we are planning to either switch over to KOHA and migrate our records into KOHA 2.2.9 ver. or wait for any agency who can undertake the AMC of Newgenlib.I request all my fellow professionals on this forum to guide me in this regard.Waiting for help and guidance. With kind regards
