They play a pivotal role in nurturing knowledge and improving the quality of education. They not only help to inculcate the habit of reading but also a thirst for new knowledge. The advent of ICT has opened the doors of possibilities. Now the role of School Libraries has changed from mere information transfer to content generation. Digital resources comprise mainly E-journals, E-books, Online databases, Blogs, etc. The Internet, the medium that allows to access the information playground that is the World Wide Web, has provided a whole new medium for information exchange. Initiatives such as free softwares and open source initiatives have boosted the free use and availability of information. Digital Libraries are also gaining importance and enriching the world of information.
