The debate on the current scenario on excess of Webinars 👇 for the perusal of LIS Forum members 👇 -------- Forwarded message --------- From: Sharmila Ghosh <milaghosh@gmail.com> Date: Sat, 23 May, 2020, 3:01 PM Subject: Re: Excess of webinars.. Be it a scholarly event or a socio-cultural event, the levels of *active* participation, verbal interactions with fellow participants , information exchange and knowledge sharing.. Happens at different levels altogether.. This *cannot* be possible from the space of your home or office, you being solo.. And isolated.. Just you, your equipment, the network and everything that is possible online! Agree.. In a situation like this (lockdown and compulsory social distancing) we don't have a better option. But, why not keep the number of such webinars limited ONLY to what is actually required.? On Sat, 23 May, 2020, 2:37 PM Nabi Hasan, <nabihasan@gmail.com> wrote:
Infact this is good, that the people have choice to attend without cost, keeping busy and learning as well. Its better than predatory conferences or publishing or predatory awards. -- Thanks and regards,

Dear Sharmila-di,
Thanks for your insightful comment. However, I feel that webinar is spreading more knowledge than pre-Covid19 situation. Let the budding professionals learn from the experienced professionals and scholars through these webinars.
With Best Wishes
