A need was felt for training in Observation Methodology primarily because this method lends itself to varied approaches through which observation can be done, the most rigorous being the open-ended using the qualitative approach. The workshop is for young faculty of universities and colleges and research scholars pursuing M.Phil/Ph.D. Due to limitations of seats, the main criteria for admission to the workshop is the use of observation in the faculty member/scholars research design. The interested candidates are therefore to submit their research proposals to the undersigned by 20th September, 2005. Submissions can be through the e-mail (bhargavi@tiss.edu) or through the post. The applications should be submitted through the H.O.D. or the research supervisor. Preference will be given to participants of the prior workshops as they have a grounding in the basics of qualitative methodology. The selected participants will be intimated by 23rd September 2005 through e-mail or telephone. The Registration fees may then be sent through a Demand Draft addressed to the Registrar, Tata Institute of Social Sciencese, Mumbai. The registration fee for the workshop is Rs.900/-. Accommodation and all meals will be provided for. The participants have to bear their travel expenses.
