Dear Professionals/Publishers,
I would like to suggest Publication of one Journal in the field of library
and information science which should ONLY cover the area of open Access
resources and open source softwares in the field of Library science.The
Title may be like "JOURNAL OF OPEN SOURCE SOLUTIONS FOR LIBRARY AND
INFORMATION SCIENCE"
The advantages are:
-We will have a formal written record of open source solutions (OSS) for
LIS.
-We can share our knowledge and technical capability in the area of OSS
through formal media.
-We will have solutions on pin pointed problems on oss.
-Most libraries can get the benefit's of using OSS efficiently and free of
cost.
Apart from above there may be other important benefits of such
initiatives. I request to all the publishers and eminent professionals to
think about it.
