Dear Professionals,

 

I'm greatful to see that Dr. Amit Chatterjee,  Prof.P.B.Mangla, Raghunath and many of you provided inputs on the thought.

 

As rightly mentioned, I beleive Selecting, analysing, organizing infn is ultimately for dissemination purpose. More importantly infn acquistion is also the main skill to acquire again for dissemination purpose, not in a traditional like more in a style suggested by Dr. Chatterjee.

 

As Dr. Chatterjee rightly advised, librarians should come out of our traditional role taught in library schools and learn as many information (acquisition, organisation, networking etc.) skills as possible.

 

Further, we shall request knowledge commission to call us 'information dissemination industry personnel' and work under single title and extend our services for effective dissemination of information.

It's a time to prove ourselves and out skills seperately than IT professionals.
