Dear Professionals, Prof. Parthasarathy is a role model for LIS professionals. Probably secret of his good health even at this age of 102 years is his simple lifestyle, good food habits and active professional activities. Till recently he used to attend LIS Conferences many a time traveling through rail/bus routes. It is heartening to know that even today he attends e-mails, etc. Hats off to you sir. Today, Prof. Parthasarathy, the doyen of LIS former Director of INSDOC, completes 102 years!.
It is such a wonderful pleasure and feeling to count his years and watch his agile life which helps people like us not to feel older! He lives and works by the spirit of LIS even to this date. He reads and replies his e-mail regularly and is in connect with what is latest in the LIS world. Recently he wrote the Preface to the book *The Science and the Profession of Libraries - A Visionary’s Perspective* (A collection of 20 classic papers) published as 125th Anniversary Commemoration Volume released on Ranganathan's 126th birth anniversary, under the series S R Ranganathan Classics.
Please join me in wishing Prof. Parthasarathy many more years of healthy life like what he enjoys today and be the guiding spirit of LIS profession.
