The Open Access Initiative: a new paradigm for scholarly communication
Communication/dissemination of research output i.e. Scholarly
Communication is an integral part of science. Scientific Journals are the
key medium of this communication. Unfortunately due to access
restrictions, this key medium itself has become a barrier for the
scholarly communication. Open Access Initiative has evolved as a mechanism
to overcome this crisis. This seminar focuses on the characteristics and
role of Open Access Initiative to overcome the crisis in scholarly
communication.
