Programme 5.00 p.m. : Tea & Networking 5.30 p.m. : Presentation About the Presentation: Big Data technologies and Cloud services have showed up about twelve years and been evolving together. Availability of Cloud technologies have influenced Big Data products, their architecture, applications and offering continuously. In this talk we track the Cloud technology trends and how they have influenced the way Big Data is practiced. Specifically we talk about the effects of serverless computing, cloud storage, containerization, streaming architectures and new programming languages on Big Data products and services. Throughout the talk we bring in examples from applications of Data Lakes for digital marketing. About the Speaker: Mr. Thiruvalluvan has been building software systems for three decades. Apart from his day job, he is presently the PMC Chair of Apache Avro Project, which he helped found in 2009. His current interests include large scale distributed systems for batch and low-latency web services. He has built some innovative performant and resilient products on top of the current and past crop of Big Data platforms. In the past he worked on desktop search, web search and advertising platforms, cloud platforms and deployment automation in Yahoo! He has been developing and using cloud product for the past 10 years and has been in the forefront of server-less computing.
