Hi,
Even all MLIS degree in US are not accredited by ALA. There are ALA
approved courses as well non ALA approved courses.
If you want your MLIS to be accredited by ALA, your university's LIS
department has to pay a annual fee to ALA, which is at least USD
3000.00, if I'm correct. ALA approves courses based on various
parameters, including course content, faculty qualifications, etc.

Dear Professionals,
I have come accross to many advt for different post of librarian in US . The eligibility is MLISC. But they consider only ALA accredited MLISC. I would like to know why they dont consider the Indian University (any other) Awarded MLISC Degree, is it not standard according to thier syllabus or is it same for all subjects. If so why can't we change our syllabus to International level.
How come they consider MCA, MBA, B.E. etc. best wishes Anuradha
