Dear LIS professional Friends, LIS Academy has initiated to undertake Skill Development Proficiency Courses affiliated to Visvesvaraya Technology University (VTU), Belagavi In this connection to understand the need for different skill sets in LIS Profession and to trace the expertise manpower to train the professionals with these skill sets, a Symposium is organised on 13th November 2021 at 9.30am at VTU Regional Office Nagarabhavi,Bangalore. The Symposium focuses on the following topic of discussion: 1. To identify the prevailing skill set requirements of the market 2. To Identify mode and method, convenient to both working librarians and novice 3. To workout collaboration with various well equipped libraries and librarians across the country to impart skill set 4. To identify suitable institutions (good with tools, technology and expertise) and industries to provide exposure or provide chances for students to work in ongoing projects. Following session are identified for discussion: -- Digital technologies for libraries including library automation -- Library Data Analytics and Scientometrics -- Models of Collection development and E-Resource Managements tools -- E-Publishing and prevailing publishing models -- Web tools, Technologies for researchers & authors -- E-learning, Virtual learning and Research Integrity -- Intellectual Property Management & Patenting Call for Participation Registration: The participation is free for experts as well as participants.
