NATIONAL WORKSHOP ON SCIENTIFIC JOURNAL PUBLISHING IN INDIA 10th and 11th February, 2006 Conducted by National Centre for Science Information, Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore in collaboration with Public Knowledge Project, Univerity of British Columbia & Simon Fraser University, Canada supported by Asian Media and Information Centre, Singapore Dates: 10th and 11th February, 2006. ------ Content: ------- Aimed at academic publishers in India, including institutions and associations with Institutional Archives as well as journal publishers, the workshop aims to - Impart knowledge about OAI-PMH and the tools and techniques required to publish with OAI compliance. - Conduct hands-on session with the free journal management and publishing software, Open Journal Systems(OJS), which facilitates OAI-PMH indexing - Present talks by eminent persons on Open Access Publishing Registration Information: ------------------------ The workshop is open to Indian nationals employed in organizations, associations or private companies involved in academic and research publication OR have plans in the near future to start their own archives or publishing initiatives. Two members from the same organization are encouraged to participate. Additional members can be accommodated subject to the availability of seats. The number of seats is limited to 20 only. Registration Cost: ----------------- - No registration fee is charged to the participants. - Travel expenses to and from Bangalore should be borne by the participant or the sponsoring organization. - Accommodation, food, local transport and hospitality will be extended.
