Dear Professional Friends, I join other LIS friends in condoling the untimely sad demise of Dr. R.M. Vatnal, who was working as Deputy Librarian, Karnataka University, Dharwad. After his MLISc, he joined NAL, Bangalore as a Graduate Trainee. Before he could complete his term at NAL, he got admission to NCSI/IISc course. He served KUD library as Assistant Librarian and then as Deputy Librarian. He did excellent job there. He also played a major role in setting up and maintaining of networking at KUD Campus. With his death, LIS Profession has lost a knowledgeable and efficient professional. I pray the lord to give enough strength, specifically to his family to bear this great loss. He completed his BLISc, MLISc, and Ph.D. from Karnataka University, Dharwad. He was also an alumnus of NCSI, Bangalore. He immensely contributed towards the development of university library.
