INVITATION LETTER
Dear Sir/ Madam
It gives us immense pleasure to inform you that we are organizing a National
Conference K-Society 2012: CREATING DIGITAL LIBRARY IN GLOBALISED
E-SOCIETY on 28-07-2012 (Saturday) at ISI, New Delhi.
The event shall provide a common platform for the exchange of knowledge
between Academicians, Information managers, Librarians, IT Professionals,
Knowledge based professionals, LIS research Scholars and Students to have a
vital role to play in the process of emergence of new theories, models,
systems, and technologies. They also have a responsibility to harness these
for common good and strive to prevent their possible ill effects in the era
of rapid growth in technologies. This Conference will play a significant
role in generating awareness about the potential and the limitations of new
technologies, concepts, theories, and trends. The chief objective of This
conference is to bring together experts from industries, academia, R&D
institutions and other user communities on a common platform to discuss and
share their expertise and experiences.
Call for papers & paper submission guideline:
Participants are invited to submit original, unpublished papers based on
research or practical experience on sub themes mentioned above for
presentation at the conference. The full paper must be submitted in English
language as soft copy form in MS-Word 2003 or MS-Word 2010 format to the
email: . The paper should be free
from grammatical errors with complete references cited within the text. All
accepted papers will be published in the conference proceedings, provided
the paper is presented in person by the author/co-author.
Theme:
The major areas of deliberation would consist of but not limited to the
following areas:
· Planning and managing resource centers in the digital age;
· Sourcing and organizing information (print/electronic, internet
for research);
· Management of audio-visual resources (films, photos, CDs, etc.);
· Digitization and e-documentation of resources;
· Planning, creation, and management of digital libraries;
· Knowledge creation and dissemination through information
services/products;
· Online presence : reaching out through the web; and
· Potential of social media and Web 2.0 for information
dissemination and communication.
However the research ideas from relevant and related areas are also welcome.
Many eminent experts from India and abroad are expected to participate in
the conference. We will be happy to have you as one of the honorable
participants in the conference. We shall be grateful to receive your
suggestions for the conference. I hope that you will be able to join us as
