dear friends recently i was in Bangalore at Rajiv Gandhi Health University. Dr Urs, the Chief Librarian of th euniversity, who established the HELINET by roping in medical colleges in the university to proivde the subscription of journals and books as well as information to these colleges. he started five user education programs to the doctors, librarians and medical students on wht are the resources available and how to make use of them. on first day, the program was for medical subject and more 80 participated in the program, they were attentively attending the program. I FEEL ALL THE PROFESSIONALS SHOULD APPRECIATE THE ATTEMPTS OF Dr URS IN ORGANISING THESE FREE USER EDUCATION PROGRAMS TO ENLIGHTEN THE USERS AND ALSO TO MAKE OPTIMUM USE OF THE RESOURCES. THIS ENABLES VALUE FOR TH EMONEY SPENT BY THE INSTITUTIONS. Why cannot the Universities getting the resources thru Infonet make such regular programs? i congratulate Dr Urs and his staff in doing these programs.
