Dear All, Due to my curiosity to know the exact official date of birth of Dr. Ranganathan once i sent the application under RTI Act to home ministry, and surprised to know that they have no data about his DOB though he is Padma shree awardee. I feel a detail biography of at least 2/3 pages is necessary about such persons and our ministry must think on it rather than 2/3 line of information about such great personality. Further, many celebrates his birthday on two different dates so i did small survey and found the result which indicates Librarians day/Ranganathan date of birth should be celebrated on 12th of August.
