Library position at Chanakya University, Bangalore.

Senior Professional Assistant (Digital Library) ...... One post.

Position Type: Full-time.

Job Summary: Chanakya university is looking for a highly motivated & skilled expert to manage, maintain, and troubleshoot integrated library systems. This role requires hands-on experience with library automation systems & processes, ERM (Electronic Resources Management), remote access, library portal and social media. The candidate will be a part of the professional team in building a best-in-class academic library & knowledge centre.

Key Responsibilities:

Handle and manage integrated library systems including, KOHA, D-Space, Remote access & discovery tools.
Oversee the Electronic Resources Management (ERM) including access management & licensing issues.
Proven abilities related to proxy servers, database management systems (DBMS), networking, and portal management.
Troubleshooting and technical support for library systems, ensuring minimal disruption to library operations.
Train other library staff on the above-mentioned systems and practices.

Skills and Competencies:

Practical knowledge in installation, configuration and maintenance of above mentioned systems and related technologies.
Strong technical skills in DBMS, proxy servers, networking, and web design.
Excellent problem-solving skills, with an ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues in a timely manner.

Key Attributes:

Ability to work independently as well as a team member.

Strong communication & interpersonal skills.
A strong passion for library services and a flair technology integration

Educational Requirements:

Master's in library and information science (MLISc) or Master of Science (MS-LIS/ DRTC) (regular & full-time courses only)
(Additional qualifications such as PGDCA, PGDLAN, or PGDLIM are equivalent programs are highly desirable).
Alternatively, B.Tech or BCA/ MCA candidates with a strong inclination towards library and information services.

Experience: 3-5 years of relevant experience.
