Dear All, If Monster. com shows something negative about librarianship, it is because the general thinking of the society is that. The advertisement is only a mirror that reflects the common perception or possibly the practical reality. The right way to deal with this reflection of negative image in advertisement or in society altogether is to attempt to rework on our professional activates so as to improve the professional image. Any legal action or protest against the site will not improve our image, which is not very good right now, in the society. For that, we need to work enthusiastically, learn new technologies and put them into practice in our professional assignments. It is a sad fact that in an age of information technology, Google and Wikipedia, the librarians remain as dull professionals in majority of institutions. We should learn those technologies to grow further and should 'stand on the shoulders of the giants' so as to bring vibrancy in our profession. If we don't emerge as good knowledge managers, we will be despised by all in this Internet era.
