Thanks Dr. Pujar, for updating me on "Google Scholar Metrics" by your
recent posting.
However, there are some skepticism also about its worthiness as a method
of ranking the journals. Please visit
http://publishing.mathforge.org/discussion/87/is-google-scholar-metrics-for-...
for details. The date on which it was released, ie., April 1, adds further
doubts in the minds of the people. Moreover, the service does not have a
regular straight forward URL which creates more confusion.

Dear Members,
Google has started ranking journals!
Through its new service called '*Google Scholar Metrics*' currently it cover articles *published between 2007 and 2011*, both inclusive. The metrics are based on citations from *all articles* that were indexed in Google Scholar as of *April 1st, 2012*. This also includes citations from articles that are not themselves covered by Scholar Metrics.
To know which are the top 20 journals in a particular subject area just type the subject. For example; Economics, Statistics, Mathematics etc using the following URL address. Once you get Google Scholar search box replace 'Economics' with name of other subject.
http://scholar.google.com/citations?hl=en&view_op=search_venues&vq=economics
To know more about this new service, please go through Google Scholar at: http://scholar.google.com/intl/en/scholar/metrics.html
