Dear Mr. Pandey,
It’s sad to hear that you don’t like to get into the endless discussion of what the field needs and what it doesn’t, whereas I feel it is worthless arguing with professionals who do not accept their shortcomings. I always answer each and every mail addressed to me hence I am replying to your mails.
I am thankful that we have the LIS forum to share and get information to a great extent. I always think positive hence I did not give a thought that if LIS forum would not have been there, where I would have got the information from? But still I would like to answer your query that if LIS forum would not have been, definitely there would have been other networks, forums or some platform where one could get the required information. You may not know, our professional field has grown to the extent where we have developed the LIS forum, librarian’s personal blogs, professional groups and associations which would definitely solve queries of each one of us.
It’s great that you have a second home at Vashi, but it’s strange that you don’t know the difference between Vashi and Vasai.
Anyways, if you have the addresses of the bookstalls in Vashi who could supply the books on competitive exams please post it to the site it will definitely be useful to the librarians residing there.
If ever in future you come to Vashi please feel free to contact me we can then have positive discussion for the betterment of our professional site with a cup of coffee of course.
Thanks and regards,
Dear Mr. Kamble,
I'm not going to get into the endless discussion of what the field needs and what it doesn't. Again, I'm not going to point you out that as a Librarian, you might have came across some key-words called "reference librarian" , etc. If you follow the classical approaches of LIS, you will be definitely in the position to get the references by yourself than putting it on a forum. Could you please enlighten me, that if it was not the LIS Forum, how you would have gone for this information? Think yourself rather justifying it unnecessarily.
PS: I have been to Vashi. It is my second home and if you insist I can send you some addresses of book-stalls where you can find the mags in the question and more than that.
Regards
anand

Mr Pandey,
Thanks for your reply.
I appreciate your concern about receiving spam mails.
Regarding your reply, let me tell you that the institute I am working is in a remote area in Vasai and not like Bangalore, where all the periodicals may be available(?) at newspaper stand. As a thorough professional I have followed the procedure to find the information by myself through various contacts but in vain. Thus I approached the help of our professional group with various reasons in mind which I have put forth below.
Let me aware you that, as UGC had just sanctioned grants to colleges for conducting "coaching classes for entry in services" and competitive exams are also going to be held in coming months, I thought it will be useful to many of our professionals if this query is put up on the forum. Also, if you have read my mail thoroughly, you must have noticed that, I have also requested for a reference list and journals list on Competitive exams. This would definitely provide the best references and periodicals available from all over to our users, which I am sure, will be of use to all of us. There are many fresher or new entrants in our profession who might need this query answered which will help them to serve their students and teachers better. I need not explain you all this as you are a learned person and can understand, but still thought to share with you my concern for posting this query on the forum.
I also think that while meeting the needs of the growing demands for advanced technologies and applications, we should not forget our basic services which may still be important and not spam too, to many of us.
Thanking you once again for your interest in building up our professional site.
Sincerely,

This is the height of spamming! Before sending query, try to solve by yourself. Give some time and then post to the forum! And in this case, Ajay, you could have simply gone to a news paper stand, see the mags around...turn the front page and note down the address.
