01/12/2008 Dear Professionals, In connection with National Library Week Celebrations, Cochin University Library along with Kerala Library Association Ernakulam Region is organising a talk on “Intellectual Property Rights from Librarian’s Point of View”. Intellectual Property Law (IPR) has assumed much significance in this information age especially with the impact of information communication technology, and library professionals should be aware of its latest developments and its implications in managing a library with out getting into troubles. Intellectual property rights are a bundle of economic rights conferred by statute upon the creators of products of Intellectual Labour or activity such as patents, trademarks, industrial designs and geographical indications of source and copyright which includes literary and artistic work etc. In this context a talk on this topic will be very much useful for the library professionals. The talk is meant for the library professionals. Mr.Benoy Kadavan, (Advocate the High Court of Kerala and IPR consultant) is the resource person for the talk. All are requested to participate.
