This workshop intends to bring together scientists, policy makers and information scientists/librarians to discuss the various issues related to the topic. The workshop is intended to take stock of present methods of evaluating research productivity of a country and an individual scientist. An endeavour will be made to examine the methods which are followed in different scientometrics/bibliometrics studies which are generally used in the assessment of research productivity by various agencies . The speakers would include eminent scientists and practitioners. The target audience are scientists, librarians and policy makers from leading institutions. This workshop will include both invited and contributed papers, and state-of-the-art lectures by eminent keynote speakers. Only a limited number of papers will be accepted for presentation. Later on an edited volume with ISBN No. will be published with presented papers. * * *Major Topics to be covered in the Workshop are:* (i) Evaluating research productivity.
