Talk Abstract:
Dr. Arved H�bler has written and published a lot about printing of
electronic circuits, paper, scanning, and optical scanning. Some of the
topics that will be covered will be image capturing systems, devices for
automated scanning of books. The focus is on a device that was developed,
that can turn the sides of a bounded book automatically, while the book is
scanned and the operator is free for other tasks.
A New Concept for Spectral Image Capturing, future prospects of
Print-on-Demand (PoD) technology, conditions of light radiation in screened
prints are other areas that will be covered.

Arved H�bler, born in 1960 in Bonn, studied Physics in Heidelberg and
Berlin. His Ph.D. thesis dealt with the Yule-Nielsen effect, a color shift
in screened printed images. With his academic degree H�bler joined the
Bertelsmann Group, a leading media house. After different positions, he was
technical director at Mohndruck in G�tersloh, the largest printing plant in
Europe for nearly three years. 1997 he assumed the chair of the
professorship Print and Media Technology at Chemnitz University of
Technology.
