With deep-hearted condolence and sadness, 

I inform you that eminent leader of Library movement, 

Prof Prabir Roy Chowdhury breathed his last today 

i.e. on 22nd August 2007 at 8.52 a.m. Students, followers, 

friends and relatives came to pay their last respects to Prof.
 Chowdhury 

and joined the funeral.  His death will be a great loss to 

the whole LIS and academic community.
