Dear All, Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan (KVS) is the premier organization in school education sector in India with 1085 schools and 10,58,450 students (as on 31.03.2011). Qualified Librarians are being posted in KVs form the beginning of KVS's inception in 1965. In 2008, a Policy for KV Libraries was developed and since then implemented. This Policy is under revision now to adopt all the new trends happening in the fields of School Librarianship, teaching and learning. A core committee was formed in September 2011 and is working to prepare a new set of Library Guidelines for Kendriya Vidyalayas all over the country. As a member of the Committee, I like to invite your productive comments and suggestions on the subject.
