Dear Colleagues, Shocked to see the reactions of some of my professional colleagues to the news of the appointment of New Director to the INFLIBNET. What is wrong in it? We all kept quite when many of the IITs/ NITs/ Central and State Universities in the country appointed Professors from other departments as the In-Charge/ HODs of the their libraries ; we maintained our silence when the institutes of eminanance in the country have reduced the Grade/ Academic Level of the librarians; we did nothing when many great institutions in the country have pushed the librarians from Academic to Administrative category. So, why there is an opposition now? Please think about our own inactions in the past. The Professional Associations both at the State and the National level have lost their voice and importance.
