Dear all It is really shocking to know about the sad demise of Prof. Ganesh Bhattacharyya, who is one of the few researchers in India to make seminal contributions to LIS. He was actively associated with the development of POPSI as a successful indexing system, and formulation of subject categories as independent to classification schemes, simultaneously using the principles of classification. He was also a charismatic orator and was having the ability to clearly convey his ideas to the audience at large.
