Dear Professionals,

 

EMPI Digital Library National Convention – 2007 is being scheduled on 18th March 2007 to 20th March 2007 at India International Centre, 40, Max Mueller Marg, New Delhi – 110003. For more information on the detail programme schedule please visit us at http://www.empidlnc.org

 

Other than this, we are happy to inform you that we have received a large number of research papers for presentation at the EMPI Digital Library National Convention 2007 (EMPIDLNC2007).The eminent scholars and professionals represent prestigious Institutions/Research Organizations and Libraries from IITs, IIMs, IISc, DRDO, UNIC, Judiciary, Central Universities, Publishers-Oxford University Press (UK), and renowned Corporates like TCS,, KnowGenesis Online Library for Technical Communication, etc. We are also hopeful of receiving contributions from the UN libraries in New York and India. In addition, to meet the expectations of the participants and authors, in terms of the quality inputs and experiential learning, EMPI DLNC Boards have arranged KEYNOTE PAPERS by highly acclaimed academics and practicing professionals from all over India.

 

In short, the DLNC 2007 will provide a Global Forum where intellectuals not only from India but also from international professionals managing Information Resource Centers, to discuss characteristics, management and skills to be developed, both in users and librarians, of the futuristic   Knowledge & Learning Resource Centers.

 

The two days Convention will comprise of Four Technical Sessions (Listed below) each starting with a theme paper by a veteran & expert in Library Teaching/Management, followed by five/six paper presentations by delegates. These sessions will have ample time for discussions too. Two Tutorial Sessions on (i) Digital Libraries Fundamental and Advanced Concepts are arranged. In addition there will be Two Panel Discussions on   (i) Reforming of LIS Education and(ii)Skills required for the professionals manning Information Centers of the 21st. century. The Four Technical Sessions will cover:

(1)   e-Resource, e-Services Governance and Users Experiences.

(2)   Digital Library: Management, Policies, and Practicing Issues

(3)   Developing and Managing Library Network.  

(4)   Digital Library: Project Management, Technology Selection and Deployment & Governance of Digital Library Services.

 

Your participation in the EMPI Digital Library National Convention – 2007 and sharing of experiences will, more than providing a platform for building of mutual synergies, help in developing the preferred roadmap to guide the Indian Information Centers to support the efforts of all our countrymen to make India a KNOWLEDGE SOCIETY.   Please do send us confirmation, at the earliest, about your joining us in this endeavour. In case of your inability to participate you may like to inform and persuade your colleagues and friends to join us in the proposed National Convention, and make it a grand success

 

For us, it has been a most rewarding experience; so far, in view of the fact that EMPI's modest Initiative to Contribute in the Development of India as a Promising Knowledge Superpower has aroused intense interest among the intellectuals and professionals.
