Dear Sir, To say that such online training is in vogue in the West is not at all justified. It is OK with arts, humanities and social science subjects, but how can we give practical hands-on training online in STEM disciplines? In my opinion lack of practical training among our fresh LIS students has become a stumbling stone for getting employment in today's digital information world. I agree with Dr Koteswara Rao that internships in a professional field have to be hands-on and cannot be online.

You cannot learn motor car repairing without actually dirtying your hands or learn swimming without actually jumping into water.
