Congratulations to the winners and the runners up! The Garfield Team of Vijaianand and Manas Samanta walked away with the beautiful iQuiz trophy and the big bonanza of cash prizes. The runners up were the Dewey team of Ramesh Yernagula and Chandana Patra.
The days of anticipation and waiting were over on December 11, 2008 as the curtains came down on the iQuiz 2008 - keenly awaited event - organized by Informatics and IASLIC on the occasion of the 23rd National Seminar of IASLIC 2008 at Bose Institute. ISiM (International School of Information Management), University of Mysore was our quiz partner and OCLC was the sponsor.
The grand finale was a cliff hanger - with the Garfield Team and the Dewey Team racing neck to neck till the end.
The top six scorers of the Online Round held on November 28th were teamed up into Ranganathan Team, Dewey Team and Garfield team and invited to the final round of the stage quiz. However due to unavoidable circumstances, Shion Guha of Indian Statistical Institute, Bangalore did not show up and hence based on an impromptu quiz one of audience Ms. Chadana Patra was selected to replace Guha for the final round.
There was palpable tension and anticipation in the air, with both the contestants and the audience sitting literarily at the seat edges.
The iQuiz trophy along with the cash prize of Rs. 10,000 for the winning team and Rs. 5000 for the runners up and other prizes and goodies added to the excitement and the passions of everyone. IASLIC also announced a cash prize of rs.1000 for the winning team.
