I Totally agree with Mr. Sukhdev that problem lies somewhere else. I think the one should just not see one side of the coin only, the root cause of the problem expressed by Mr. David lies somewhere else i.e. 'Collection development.'But as per AICTE norms (http://www.aicte.ernet.in/12norms_engineering.htm) There should be a minimum of 12 technical journals - 6 Indian and 6 International for each branch of engineering. While this is essential for institutions offering P.G. programme, the number of International Journals may be relaxed, though preferred for those offering only U.G. Programmes.I would like to know through this forum about the situation in other engineering institution libraries what are they doing int their libraries to utilise this mandatory collection.
