At present libraries are providing online access to their collections to the patrons. To make these resources available efficiently, libraries are using Link resolvers. Link resolvers are the software that enable the library patrons to navigate seamlessly between various library resources such as full-text databases, printed documents, Document Delivery Service forms, online catalog search results and sometimes Inter Library Loan forms through a single-window environment. GODOT from Simon Fraser University and Ohio links link resolver are two open-source link resolvers. ExLibris SFX link resolver, LinkSource from EBSCO and WebBridge are some commercial link resolver products.This seminar will discuss the need and benefits of using a link resolver, the process, implementation challenges, the software tools SFX and WebBridge, and the related technologies.
