This is very sad news and a great loss for the LIS community and for all of us who benefitted from his knowledge, professionalism and service.
He was a sincere dedicated, enthusiastic, and very active person.
I feel proud to had an opportunity to work under his guidance. He was easily accessible to everyone.
I also join the LIS community to pray to God for this great soul to rest in peace.

Greetings from the Department!
You are invited to Inaugural function of the Golden Jubilee Celebrations on June 24, 2014.
The Department of Studies in Library and Information Science, University of Mysore, Mysore (MyDLIS) is in the verge of stepping into another mile stone. It is entering in to its Golden Jubilee year on June 24. It took birth on June 24, 1965. Entry into 50th year for an academic institution is very significant milestone in its life time line. It is the time for all of us to cherish the past and plan the future. It is the time for us to introspect and project the future development. In this context the Department likes to meet you in-person and interacts with you.
The Inauguration Function of the Golden Jubilee Year is organized on Tuesday, the 24th June 2014. One of our proud Alumni, Dr. P.Y. Rajendra Kumar. Director General, National Library, India will be the Chief Guest. The first-ever Vice-Chancellor from LIS field and the ex-faculty from MyDLIS Prof. V.G. Talawar will be the Guest of Honour. Prof. K. Rangappa, Vice-Chancellor, University of Mysore, Mysore will preside over the function. There will be a day-long activities. Alumni meet and a Round table are the other major events of the day. The Round table is on the topic 'Re-imagining LIS Education in India'. We look forward to get ideas from practitioners, theoreticians, researchers, academicians and visionaries. The deliberations on the topic will be initiated by some speakers. It is more of an interactive session. Your participation in the discussion is prima-facieimportance to us. We sincerely value your opinions and suggestions.
