The OCKHAM Initiative seeks to promote the development of digital libraries via collaboration between librarians and digital library researchers. By promoting simple, open approaches and standards for digital library tools, services, and content, the gap between digital library development and the adoption of digital library systems by the traditional library community will be bridged.
MyLibrary@OCKHAM
MyLibrary@OCKHAM is a demonstration of how to make National Science Foundation Digital Library content more available through traditional libraries venues. This goal is accomplished in four steps: 1) create a framework for storing relevent content using MyLibrary, 2) harvest content from the NSDL OAI Repository, and save it to the underlying MyLibrary database,
3) write reports against the database in the form of browsable lists, and 4) index the content to provide searchable interfaces.
