A current scandal in the UK has evidenced that the commercial sector is actively trying to suppress debate on its role and business models by unethically interfering with the normal editorial process. Taylor and Francis has lost the confidence and trust of the creators of a well-known journal, Prometheus, and the resulting stink over censorship and academic freedom has rightly made the general press. Well worth checking out since it has implications for all academics and is of particular note to this list. The THES report is a good place to start and has links to the disputed - censored! - article and general debate.
