Least that I expected him to crown the chair of a librarian of a prestigious institute - IISc. Dr. Anand my heartiest congratulation to you on achieving a leap forward in your career. Friends I have interacted with Dr. Anand on many occasions. In-fact in the year 2016 both of us shared the dais while receiving ‘Best Librarian Award’ from Department of Public Libraries, Govt. of Karnataka. I have had the pleasure of inviting him to Academic Staff College (ASC) to address the college librarians, many times. He would always be humbled and obliged to come-over to Mysore. I don’t remember, him giving any excuse to commit to the assignment we would be entrust. Whenever the staff of the ASC went to pass on the remuneration, he would politely request them to donate the same among the needy. I don’t think, he has accepted even once. As they say charity needs to be anonymous and the quote cited above suits his persona. Am sure he would have done many more such deeds, without our knowledge.
