WALK IN INTERVIEW


ACTREC is looking for young and dynamic freshers for induction as LIBRARY
TRAINEES for a period of six months which may be extendable up to one year 
 
Advanced Centre for Treatment, Research and Education in Cancer (ACTREC),
situated in 60 acre land at Kharghar, Navi Mumbai is a new state of the art
R & D satellite of the Tata Memorial Centre (TMC).  The Institute comprises
of basic research wing and clinical research centre.  It also has a
50- bed hospital fully equipped with state-of-the-art diagnostic and
therapeutic facilities.  ACTREC has the mandate to function as a national
centre for treatment, research and education in cancer.
 
The Institute library is fully automated and all its functions & services
are operated on LibSuite (ASP version) software.  It houses
over 15000 books and back volumes of journals and has access to over 2000
journals through various online databases round the clock.  Thesis,
Institutional Reports, Staff Publications, CD ROMs, Video Cassettes are the
other resources available to all Scientific Community.  The library has
installed DSpace software on one of the machines and initiated the
digitization activities. It has plans to digitize its Thesis collection and
introduce enhanced electronic information services in the coming years.
 
Interested candidate should have Masters Degree in Library and Information
Science (MLISc) with first class from a recognized University.  Candidate in
the age group of 25 years with Science background, knowledge of library
software and computer skills will have an added advantage.
 
The selected candidate will be paid a stipend of Rs.6000/- per month with
accommodation facilities in the Institute hostel which is located in the
campus.  Trainee may have to work during flexible hours on all working days
including week ends.
 
Trainee appointed will have an opportunity to work in a computerized library
environment with hands-on-experience in all sections of library and will get
an exposure to modern techniques of maintaining scientific and medical
library.
 
Candidates fulfilling above requirements may walk in for an interview on 18
June, 2008 at 10.a.m. at the Meeting Room, 3rd Floor, Khanolkar Shodhika,
ACTREC, Kharghar, Navi Mumbai alongwith detailed CV, attested copies of all
