The purposes of the Society are scientific and educational, directed towards the advancement of the theory and practice of computer science and information technology. CSI started with a handful of IT enthusiasts in 1965 has today grown as the largest and professionally managed association of and for IT professionals, academic and student community in India with over 100,000 members consisting of Professionals with varied backgrounds, Faculty and Students of CSE & IT streams.
