Dear Ms Veena, CD servers are very much useful and used in many big libraries having large number of CDs. They serve as storage devices with capacity ranging from 1-2 Tera bytes where one can 'dump' the images of CDs and make them available over the local area network (Intranet). In our library we are using a Tulsient CD server (NAS device) of 2 TB capacity to store the contents of nearly 800 CDs and full-text of PhD theses in pdf format. Dr. M. Sir, I want to know the use of CD server in libraries , kindly help to know more about the same.
